Romeo and Juliet

William Shakespeare. Russian translation by Boris Pasternak. Tragedy
Romeo and Juliet
«Romeo and Juliet» by Grigory Kozlov has two authors – William Shakespeare and Boris Pasternak who translated it into Russian. Tragedy in verse. A story painted in two colors only. The black and white world. Good and evil, hot and cold, love and death, now and never.

Plague in Italy, plague in Verona. And people just want to live, to fall in love, to marry each other, to raise their children, to grow old and to die surrounded by family and friends. Everyone wants to live in peace and harmony. But there will be no peace. There is a war in Verona, the war as merciless as the plague. The senseless long enmity has exhausted everybody, but it cannot be stopped. The monk’s failed attempt to return peace to Verona will launch a new chain of deaths – Mercutio, Tybalt, Paris, Romeo, Juliet. The lives of young, sincere, brave people will be cut short. For the stupidity of the fathers, the children will pay. There will be no peace. There is no future.
